Best Bruiser build in Enotria: The Last Song

The tank of Enotria.

Enotria: The Last Song puts a real emphasis on Elemental damage and Mask Lines, so crafting your Bruiser build is a little harder to do as you cannot completely forget that those crucial Virtues exist.

You still need to level these up otherwise you’re restricted to your health pool alone. Here is our top pick for the best Bruiser build in Enotria: The Last Song.

Bruisers cannot rely on Elemental damage or Ardore Power to get them through a fight. As most enemies have a counter due to their element, Bruisers need a high Virtue stat to build resistance to the status effects enemies inflict.

Let’s dive into our Bruiser recommendations.

Enotria: Bruiser stats

With a focus on HP and Defense, here are our Bruiser stat recommendations for Lvl. 67:

  • Bruiser: 42
  • Assassin: 30
  • Elementalist: 18
  • Trickster: 11
  • Battlemage: 15

Having a massive health pool will keep you in the fight for longer and boost your overall survivability. Without Elemental damage and Mask Lines to rely upon, you must master dodging and parrying to keep your health pool high. Consume an Armonia Sap before a fight and you can replenish your health with every connected melee attack, keeping your HP as high as the boss you’re fighting.

Bruiser build: Best Masks

We recommend making heavy attacks your primary way of attacking in Enotria. Here are our Mask recommendations for the Bruiser:

MaskDescriptionUnlock requirement
Mask of ChangeAllows you to deal more weapon damage through heavy attacks. In addition, your Physical Power is increased while Awakened.Default mask
Automaton’s MaskAllows you to deal more weapon damage through heavy attacks and gain immunity to Sick while Awakened.Collect 200 Automaton Mask shards.
Zealot’s MaskIncreases physical attack when health is below a threshold. Additionally, the first instance of lethal damage dealt to you while you’re Awakened reduces you to one HP instead.Talk to Custode at The Coliseum with Giangurgolo’s Mask equipped.
Guise of ZanniIncreases the maximum amount of Armonia Amber charges. Allows you to equip and use the “Grand Celebration” Mask Line.Defeat Zanni, The First Mask.

While a tank build would normally have a Greatsword or Hammer, we found the moveset was too slow to deal with most bosses. These slower Colossal weapons may be great for exploration, but you will meet many bosses that have ridiculously quick combinations that punish slow attacks. Heavy attacks can be difficult to execute if the timer is slightly off, and this is made worse with a Greatsword in hand.

Therefore, we recommend a high DPS Polearm or Longsword as your primary and a Saber as your secondary. These will let you execute heavy attacks quickly. You can also use jump attacks as this deals good damage and reduces the chances of you timing your attack with the opposition (somehow, the enemy always hits first!).

Enotria: Top Mask Lines for Bruiser build

Mask Lines aren’t essential for this build but it doesn’t mean you should forget about them completely. They are available from the very beginning and seeing as this is called The Last Song, we recommend you use them. Mask Lines can pair nicely with your tankier build as you can hone in on your heavy attack power.

Here are our Mask Line picks for the Bruiser:

Mask LineDescription
Iron ImpactSummon a massive hammer and perform a short sequence of devastating attacks.
TarantaSummon a massive hammer and swing it like a pinwheel, damaging anyone you come into contact with.
Collera de’ PrincipeSummon the Prince of Laughter’s weapon and perform a violent downward slam, dealing area damage aligned with the Vis element.
Wrathful ChargeSummons an Ardore Shield imbued with the powers of Vis and starts charging forward, damaging enemies and knocking them backward.

The Bruiser will be up close and personal throughout the entire fight, so choosing powerful Mask Lines that deal high AoE damage will greatly increase your critical attack odds. The more heavy attacks you connect, the greater the stagger, and it won’t be long to wait for your next critical attack.

Bruiser build: Path of Innovators recommendations

Most of your Paths will likely lie on the red side. Screenshot by Dot Esports

The Aspect of the Bruiser increases your HP and Defense by five points. Without Adorne power to fall back on, your physical attacks will be the main focus. Therefore, your chosen Paths should boost your Bruiser Virtue further. Our recommendations boost your Physical Defense, Physical Power, and max health, and harm enemies in return (even if you’re not hitting them).

Here are the Paths we’ve chosen:

PathDescription
Path of PreservationDealing damage with a weapon briefly increases your Physical Defense. This effect can stack.
AnnihilatorYour weapon attacks have a chance to deal increased damage.
Layers of ThornsSuffering melee damage causes the attacker to sustain physical damage in return.
Danza de SpadaDealing damage with Light Attacks increases the damage of Heavy attacks, and vice versa. Suffering damage resets these effects.
Reckless AbandonWhen your health is below a certain threshold, your Physical Power is increased.
Stalwart DuelistPerfectly parrying an attack heals you by a portion of your maximum Health. This effect is improved when you are low on health.

A constant threat in the arena, you’re a cushion to absorb damage, and now have a resistance to the elements (unlike the Elementalist). Instead of having to change your loadout to counter an enemy, the Bruiser transforms Enotria into a Soulslike about dodging and parrying.
