How to dig up dirt piles in Creatures of Ava

Find the right creature.

You’ll notice there are piles of dirt on the ground as you explore the Tamûra grasslands, but you don’t have a shovel to dig them up. In Creatures of Ava, you can only use your Nafitar and tamed creatures to deal with the environment—and it’s no different for dirt piles.

You will be able to dig up dirt piles by taming a creature named Tama in Creatures of Ava. In the area where you craft a consumable during the Warm Invitation quest, there’ll be the first dirt pile you can dig nearby and a rescue robot. Before you take the Ura to the rescue bot, connect with it to break down the pink jelly barrier a bit uphill.

There, you’ll see two Tama creatures. They’re blue and yellow with a duck-like beak and what seems to be a claw on their head. Use the flute and imitate the melody they make to tame them. They’ll start to follow you, so you can take them near the dirt pile and connect with them to use the Earthquake ability.

The dirt pile then opens and there’ll be a consumable item. These can be things like Stamina Brews, Healing Brews, and Agility Brews. You won’t lose anything special for not digging up dirt piles if you don’t feel like taking the Tama just to dig it up.

If you see a dirt pile, there’ll be Tama creatures around so you can dig them up. If you don’t see them, they might be a bit hidden, like the first time you find them.
