OpTic Gaming have taken their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive lineup to the next level, signing former Counter Logic Gaming frontman Tarik “tarik” Celik.
The former CLG man recently stepped down from his position in the starting lineup, telling fans he would be spending the next few months streaming until his contract with the organization was up. It seems OpTic has decided to make the most of the opportunity, splashing the cash on tarik before he becomes a free agent.
Peter “Stanislaw” Jarguz was released from the lineup to make way for the newcomer. The player wrote a statement on Twitter, telling fans that he was informed from a third-party source, rather than the organization himself, up to two weeks after the team had initially approached tarik. He gave no indication as to which team, if any, he would feature on next.
OpTic will debut with tarik tonight in the ESL Pro League against Team Liquid, which will include a matchup of former teammates. Josh “JDM” Marzano and tarik both featured on CLG this year, but will be pitted against each other on Mirage and Cobblestone when these two teams go head to head.
