The Australian Esports League (AEL) announced on Twitter earlier this week that it is launching a Corporate League in 2019.
The new inter-company corporate league offers companies the opportunity to go up against each other in over 15 different titles. Including popular ones such as CS:GO, Overwatch, and Street Fighter. Also included in the league are more mainstream titles such as FIFA and NBA 2K, both of which will provide a comfortable pathway into understanding esports.
The AEL had great success last year with its High School and University leagues, a success it is hoping will continue into the Corporate Cup for 2019.
“Our goal is to see the success of this league in bringing corporate Australia together over some friendly esports,” Darren Kwan, an Executive Producer of the AEL, told Dot Esports. “This will drive awareness of esports throughout the corporate sector and to increase the acceptance of esports as a hobby/activity that adds value to participants and to the participating companies.”
Kwan is focused on adding value to both parties “through staff engagement and improved retention of staff and productivity, team building, and overall corporate culture.” The Corporate Cup should also provide an excellent opportunity to introduce non-endemics into the world of esports.
