Esforce originally acquired the 67 percent stake in SK Gaming in 2016 but did not participate in direct management of the esports organization’s operations and sports activities.

“We are glad to have reached a deal with Daimler AG and FC Koeln.” SK Gaming said in its press release. “Such a major acquisition deal on the esports market is a showcase of not only our partners’ sincere motivation to contribute to development of global esports, but also SK Gaming’s remarkable performance throughout the years.”

The conclusion of the deal will allow ESforce to focus more on Virtus Pro, the organization said in the press release. The press release also stated that the deal could help SK branch out to new titles, but didn’t specify which ones. No financial terms of the deal have been released at this time.

SK Gaming currently competes in FIFA and Hearthstone and is set to rejoin the League of Legends scene on Jan. 19, when the team faces off against Fnatic in the opening game of the new franchised LEC league.
