We all know esports is a business in which you have to be quick with your reactions and coordination. This makes age a huge factor on who teams pick up. Well, this may not be the case in the latest role that Will Ferrell seems to be taking on, where he is set to play an older esports player who can still hold his own. Announced by Legendary Entertainment, the film is going to be written by Michael Kvamme and Jordan Dunn, who wrote Spongebob Squarepants 3. His role will be similar to his old film Talladega Nights and the film will be produced by Gary Sanchez and Mosaic, while Patrick Connelly and John Beach of Gravity Squad will be co-producing.
There is no set release date or name for the film yet, but it is currently being worked on. Rumor has it some popular esports organizations, such as Evil Geniuses and Fnatic, are in talks to be featured in the film as well.
Do you think Will Ferrell was a good pick for this movie? Will it show the true realities that some people in the esports world actually face? Comment below or tweet your answer to us @GAMURScom.
