Cristian “Hyuga” Medina, who was signed by VGBootcamp just two days prior, allegedly touched Victoria “VikkiKitty” Perez inappropriately while she slept after being allowed to stay in a hotel room with her and boyfriend “DJ Jack.”

Hyuga was, by his own admission in messages to fellow Smasher Nick Riddle who was present for the incident, heavily intoxicated.

“I fell asleep next my boyfriend on the bed and I woke up to Cristian in between my boyfriend and I,” VikkiKitty wrote in a TwitLonger post. “rubbing against me and sliding his hands up my shirt and another down my pants… 15 minutes pass and I have still not fallen back asleep before Hyuga slides between the person I was on the bed with and tries to do it once again before Nick Riddle woke up and kicked him out of the room.”

Riddle also shared a Twitter direct message from Hyuga, who has since deleted his Twitter account, in which Hyuga attempts to apologize to him, VikkiKitty and DJ Jack, blames alcohol for his actions, and pleads with them not to take further action as it would affect his ability to compete in the United States.

Hyuga’s team, VGBootcamp acted quickly, releasing a statement late last night. The team claimed it had had investigated the claims and released the player as a result.

“We want to set a precedent for all teams and sponsored players in the smash community to say that these actions will not be glossed over and ignored,” the team wrote. “To be absolutely clear, as of right now, we have dropped Hyuga from our team completely.”

Smash events have seen a number of high profile sexual harassment scandals in recent years. Most notable, the organizer of top tournament Apex forced to stand down in January 2015 after a series of sexual harassment allegations.
