A Tommy Gun has been found in the files of Fortnite’s new update

Another new weapon is coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale, according to a brand new datamine from the game’s 4.5 update today.

Resident dataminers @TwoEpicBuddies posted their findings on Twitter early this morning, along with an image and a name. The new weapon is called the Drum Gun, and it’s basically a classic old-fashioned mobster movie Tommy Gun.

TwoEpicBuddies say that the gun will be available in green and blue rarities and that it’s classified as an assault rifle. They also say that it will be released some time next week. While their claims can’t be verified, the dataminers have been consistently accurate in their findings in the past.

It’s possible that the new weapon could release next week alongside the recently datamined detective skins, which have an old-time aesthetic that would match up perfectly with the Tommy Gun.

The timing mentioned by the dataminers is interesting, however, as today’s 4.5 update already added a brand new weapon in the Dual Pistols. It’s not often that Epic Games adds in weapons so often and so close together. If the information is correct and a second weapon is being added in as many weeks, it could have a significant impact on the game’s meta.
