DreamHack has announced a new partnership to bring its premier digital festival to India this December in Mumbai.
The event will run from Dec. 21 to 23 and will include the classic bring-your-own-computer area, which is open all day, for fans to bring their PCs to LAN with others, as well as esports competitions, cosplay shows, panels, and more.
“We are excited about entering another continent as DreamHack open its doors to the first DreamHack India event.” Marcus Lindmark, DreamHack CEO, said in the announcement. “Our goal is to build a healthy gaming ecosystem, and we look forward to helping build a successful and competitive event.”
The event is part of a partnership between DreamHack, Indian gaming solutions and esports company NODWIN Gaming, and Indian media network Viacom18. The three companies will work together to bring DreamHack to Asia and make it a success.
“DreamHack has always been the epitome of the celebration of gaming and esports globally and we are delighted to partner with DreamHack on their Indian journey,” Akshat Rathee, Founder and CEO of NODWIN Gaming, said in the announcement. “India with its dynamic youth and famed hospitality is a great beachhead into bringing the DreamHack experience to Asia.
DreamHack India will be a ticketed event that will see some of the biggest games in esports headlining, including Dota 2, CS:GO and Street Fighter. There will also be a Mobile Cricket event held specifically for the Asian market.
The event will host a retro zone area, which will feature arcade machines filled with classic games. Expo zones, where event partners can show off the latest tech and gadgets, will also be provided, alongside the usual activities for the many gaming enthusiasts that attend.
