An Overwatch fan created a working version of Mei’s Endothermic Blaster

Watch as he freezes a range of food items.

Using liquid nitrogen and a 3D printed gun, one Overwatch fan created a working version of Mei’s Endothermic Blaster.

YouTube user Geekble began by putting together a 3D printed replica of Mei’s blaster, first sanding everything and then applying a coat of paint. The pieces are then fitted around an air compressor and loaded up with liquid nitrogen—a cryogenic fluid used for rapid freezing.

Once it’s wired up with adjustable lighting, Geekble’s Endothermic Blaster is ready. To test it out, he whips out a variety of food items to freeze. First, strawberries. Next, biscuits, cabbage, and what appears to be a wild onion—each of which freezes with ease.

Last month, Geekble created a replica of Reinhardt’s shield in an equally impressive build. What’s more impressive, however, is that it actually stood up for a while as a friend shot fireworks at it, but not for long. (Don’t try this at home, kids.)

So what’s next for Geekble? We’re hoping he’ll take on D.Va’s mech.
