Team SoloMid has made an offer to Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen, currently of Team Coast, in a bid to replace the team’s departed jungler.

The move comes after a series of tryouts to find a suitable replacement for Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider. While there was a respectably sized shortlist of potential candidates Larsen has emerged as a front runner to fill the vacant role following what our sources say were “impressive” tryouts.

The offer is currently under consideration, according to our source: “Lucas really enjoys being with Team Coast but opportunities like this don’t come along often. It’s lots for him to think about but he’s ready to make the step up.”

One potential stumbling block could be his existing contract with Team Coast, the details of which aren’t public. Riot have insisted that LCS contracts publicly display their end dates to ensure transparency and avoid any instances of tortious interference between league members. There is no system of that nature in place for Challenger teams, however, so the details are only known to the organisation and Riot. And of course, it’s another matter entirely whether Team Coast want to have one of their prized assets leave, especially considering he only joined May 13.

“Team Coast have a lot of resources and are trying to build a great team of their own” a source close to the organization informed us. “So they might not want to let him leave because they know how good he is. At the moment the team owner still says TSM are ‘trying’ to recruit Santorin.”

With lots of time between now and the next split, with no dates having been publicly announced, it’s unlikely that either party will rush to hash out a deal. Team Coast will compete in the upcoming North American expansion tournament, and may wait until its conclusion before continuing negotiations.
