Paul “ReDeYe” Chaloner, one of the most experienced esports broadcasters in the world, has joined Gfinity as their new head of broadcasting. Chaloner had previously been head of content and media at ESL. He announced his departure from that position yesterday, and will join Gfinity in April.

At Gfinity, Chaloner will be responsible for overseeing tournament broadcasts, in addition to helping manage other media output.

“Paul’s arrival marks an important step in our journey to becoming the number one choice for gamers and esports enthusiasts internationally.” Gfinity CEO Neville Upton said in a statement. “With ten years’ experience of working in the sector he has developed an unrivalled knowledge and understanding of what it takes to run a world class esports programme and we are thrilled to have him on board.”

In addition to working for ESL, Chaloner also previously worked in digital marketing. He has hosted some of the biggest tournaments in esports, including the Intel Extreme Masters.

The news comes just one day before the first event at the brand new Gfinity Arena, the Hearthstone Spring Masters I.

With experienced hands like Ohlen and Chaloner, along with heavyweight partners like Vue Cinemas, Gfinity is almost certainly about to make a big impact.

Update 3/11 06:24am CT: This story has been updated to include that Chaloner will be joining Gfinity in April.
