The FollowEsports Counter-Strike team may soon be playing under a new banner, after internal conflicts has led to the organisation looking to offload its roster.
Relations between the management and Counter-Strike roster of FollowEsports have soured and now the organization is looking to cut ties, sources tell the Daily Dot.
Warren “Hades” Rettich announced his departure from the team on Oct. 5, citing “unfortunate circumstances” with the team. Later comments by Rettich and others suggested that he and others had been approached by other potential sponsors, leading to his contract being terminated.
Sources close to the organization, however, allege that the players were hardly passive, and were actively looking for better financial options with other teams. This was apparently done without the knowledge of FollowEsports, and though the team had found one potential buyer, that deal has fallen through.
As a result, relations between the players and FollowEsports have broken down, with no reconciliation in sight. FollowEsports will now look to secure a buyer for its remaining roster.
It has been less than two months since FollowEsports signed the roster formerly known as SapphireKelownaDotCom, but the team has struggled in recent competition. They currently sit just one spot above the bottom in the CEVO NA Professional Division after no wins, six draws, and four losses. Captain Kyle “Ocean” O’Reilly, Ellis “Els” Clay, and Owen “Wabbit” Farrelly are currently the only permanent members of the roster.
