The team will continue to compete under the Luminosity banner until July 1, including at the Esports Championship Series finals that are already underway. Their first event as SK Gaming will be the next $1 million Valve Major—ESL Cologne.

The statement, published on both teams’ websites, struck a conciliatory tone with both sides expressing regret at the situation.

Captain of the team Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo said that both sides had resolved the dispute in “a very professional fashion.”

FalleN previously told the Daily Dot that SK Gaming had lied to the players during contractual negotiations and acted inappropriately in approaching them while under contract.

“We are very excited to see what comes next,” FalleN said. “and we will for sure keep doing what we love most; work hard and play Counter-Strike.”

SK Gaming managing director Alexander T Muller admitted that the situation had been “messy”, and that all sides had been at fault.

“I want to thank Steve Maida for agreeing to an amicable solution.” Müller said in the statement. “This was a messy situation and neither party was completely right or wrong here. At SK, we are happy to leave the emotional weeks behind us and are now looking forward to a fresh start and successful future together.”

Neither side gave any detail on the rumored involvement of Valve in resolving the dispute.
