North American esports organization Splyce has recruited three new players to its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive division: Joey “cruc1al” Steusel, former star of the Mongolian team Mongolz Enkhtaivan “Machinegun” Lkhagva and Asger “AcillioN” Larsen.
“Each of these individuals is immensely dedicated to putting in the time necessary to win and grow as a team,” team captain Arya “arya” Hekmat said about the new recruits. Both Machinegun and AcillioN are no strangers to top competition. With SK Gaming, AcillioN placed top four at Fragbite Masters Season 5 and reached the finals of the ninth season of CEVO Gfinity Pro-League.
Machinegun gained international attention at the Oceania qualifiers for the MLG Columbus major’s offline qualifier, where Mongolz defeated heavy favorites Renegades in the finals. But the team weren’t able to secure their visas in time for the tournament’s offline qualifier and had to give up their spot. Incidentally, the former Splyce roster ended up receiving the invitation, after two other teams were unable to attend on such short notice.
This is the third time in 2016 that Splyce has shuffled its roster. The last change occurred on June 17, when the team released founding members Abraham “abE” Fasli and Andrew “Professor_Chaos” Heintz. Professor_Chaos hasn’t left the organization, however, and will now be coaching the team.
Each player on the roster now comes from a separate country, making Splyce easily the most diverse of any established CS:GO team.
