The Top and the Bottom of OPL.
After two weeks of competition in the OPL, the standings are begin to become more apartment, with veterans Chiefs E-Sports taking the top spot with a record of 4 – 0 and new comers to the scene 4Not taking the bottom spot with a score 0 – 4.
Chiefs now being the only undefeated team in the OPL, what makes this even more of an achievement is the teams they took down in order to achieve this perfect record, these teams being Legacy, Sudden Fear, Dire Wolves and 4Not. Now both Sudden Fear and 4Not have struggled to find a footing so far in the OPL, which makes these victories seem not such a feat. But Legacy and Dire Wolves hold the 2nd and 3rd spots on the OPL ladder, meaning they are no push over’s themselves. Throughout all of Chiefs games we have been treated to great Mid – Jungle synergy from Swiffer and Spookz, a consistent bottom lane from Raydere and Rosey, and some very convincing games for Swip3rR in the top lane on Sion and Irelia. Throughout thier showing the OPL so far we have seen constant pressure from Swip3rR in the top lane, Constant pressure in and around the mid lane from Spookz and Swiffer and a solid as a rock bottom lane from Raydere and Rosey. This constant map wide pressure from a every member of this team makes victory likely from most games, and even when laning phase ends the rotations and objective control seems to be on another level to most of the Oceanic teams. A good start to the season is likely to transition to a high finishing place for this team, look for Chiefs to end near if not upon the top spot.
On the other end of the scale we have Team 4Not bringing up the rear, with a record of 0-4. Which is surprising to many seeing how well they performed in the qualifiers. It is important though, to take into consideration many of the losses that 4Not has accumulated were quite close games, that said a win is a win and a loss is a loss no matter how close the game. 4Not has faced a verity of teams so far, from the top tier Legacy and Chiefs to Rich Gang and Sudden Fear. All of these teams minus Sudden Fear have had quite a decent start to the OPL. Â
When we take a look at the team we see three major threats on the team, these being Top laner Carlos is God, who has shown quite well in the top lane on Gnar and Irelia despite the losses, solo killing and outplaying many experienced players. The Jungler Naya, who has been quite hit and miss, we have seen him granting massive advantages to 4Not with his early jungle pressure and vision control, however as an engager it is impossible for him to do well if his team is losing, being that he will engage and die every time, and when you are known for Champions such as Lee Sin, Jarvan IV Wukong and Amumu this doesn’t bode well for you, and the final threat of 4Not is the Marksman Cnj. He has put out some decent performances on the likes of Caitlyn and Ezreal, he has not been able to carry his team yet.  This being said, Cnj and his Support Zaldo have had some impressive laning phases against some of Oceania’s best bottom lanes.  Climbing back from an 0-4 record will be difficult and makes taking the top spot very hard, so the likelihood of this being a reality is quite low, however look to see 4Not pick up their game and be around middle of the table by the end of the OPL split.
