Cloud9 Reportedly Plan to Swap Out Shroud for EliGe

Per multiple sources, it has been rumored that Cloud9 has been experiencing internal issues within the team. The popular North American team is now the newest focal point in the international shuffle pools. Apparently, the team may end up making a “drastic change” as a result of their problematic chemistry as of late. Several sources claim the “change” may include Cloud9 replacing Mike “shroud” Grzesiek with Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski or an even more unlikely scenario, a complete disbanding.

One crucial piece of evidence that supports this rumor includes shroud moving out of the C9 house. Cloud9 recently released a video featuring the players giving fans a virtual tour of the player’s residence with shroud in it. Shroud explained his reasoning for leaving on his stream, but not whether it was a result of an issue amongst the players. Teammates such as Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert mentioned before in several YouTube videos that Cloud9 is very well-grounded in building team chemistry through living together. Shroud’s vacating of the Cloud9 residence may indicate possible problems with the team’s cohesion.

Cloud9 was unable to qualify for the ELEAGUE Major due to their losses to FaZe Clan, TyLoo, and Hellraisers, and that may have been the final straw for one of the most popular teams in North America. With this being the second Major that Cloud9 is absent in, the team may have decided it was time to make a change. It’ll be interesting to see how this story develops (if at all).

UPDATE: Jack Etienne, the Co-Founder and CEO of Cloud9, has explicitly denied these rumors.
