The Green Wall proved exactly why many fans consider them to be the best team in Infinite Warfare with a flawless start to the Call of Duty World League Anaheim Open Friday night.
Not only did OpTic Gaming start 3-0 in pool play, but they also went 9-0 in map count as Seth “Scump” Abner, Matthew “FormaL” Piper, Damon “Karma” Barlow, and Ian “Crimsix” Porter swept every opponent they faced in Pool D on the first day of CWL Anaheim.
Similarly, BitterSweet, who just acquired the roster of Michael “SpaceLy” Schmale, Andres Lacefield, Chance “Maux” Moncivaez, and Devin “LlamaGod” Tran for this weekend only, is also undefeated so far in Pool C at Anaheim. After qualifying for the second season of the CWL Global Pro League in Thursday’s relegation tournament, SpaceLy and crew continued their strong play on Friday, including upsets over Evil Geniuses and FaZe Clan.
Pool A and Pool B are both wide open heading into the second day of CWL Anaheim. In Pool A, Rise Nation, Splyce, and Enigma6 are all tied at 2-1. Rise started the day with a reverse sweep against Cloud9, followed by an impressive 3-2 series win over Splyce before E6 took down the CWL Las Vegas Open champions.
Meanwhile, Luminosity Gaming and Epsilon Esports both sit atop Pool B with a record of 2-1 at the end of Friday’s action. Epsilon did take down Luminosity 3-2, but LG responded by defeating both Team EnVyUs and Red Reserve.
The first day of CWL Anaheim was full of upsets and great matches—and Saturday is sure to follow suit. The second day of action at the CWL Anaheim Open will kick off with the Bravo stream at 2pm ET on Saturday.
