How to get and use Rebirth in NBA 2K25

Give yourself the boost you deserve.

It’s still early days in NBA 2K25, but it’s never too early to create a new MyPLAYER build. Rushing into multiple builds is not in your best interest, though. If you’re patient enough, you can get and use Rebirth to make your new builds more powerful.

What is Rebirth in NBA 2K25?

Rebirth gives you the ability to raise the maximum potential overall rating of your new MyPLAYER builds, among other things. Rebirth can be applied to all subsequent builds after your first, if you’ve fulfilled the requirements for it. If you do use Rebirth, the maximum potential OVR of the new build will be equal to the highest OVR you’ve already reached on another MyCAREER save.

For example, if you have three existing builds, one with a 95 OVR, another with a 97 OVR, and a third with a 99 OVR, and you create a fourth build using Rebirth, its starting potential OVR will be automatically set at 99. Please note that Rebirth does not raise your starting OVR, which will always be 60, but only your potential OVR, raising it from the usual starting cap of 85. You still have to use VC to upgrade your attributes.

The other benefits you get with Rebirth are a 10 percent boost to your badge progression, and all available badges being unlocked at Silver level.

How to get Rebirth in NBA 2K25

You must complete the Rebirth quest in MyCAREER. To do so, you must have a MyPLAYER build at 90 OVR or higher and go talk to Ronnie 2K about Rebirth. It doesn’t matter when you speak with Ronnie; your future Rebirth builds will always adjust with your highest-rated build at the time of starting the new save. You must have completed the Rebirth quest with a certain MyPLAYER in order to use his OVR rating as a basis for a new Rebirth build.

How to use Rebirth in NBA 2K25

You don’t have to manually do anything to use Rebirth. If you’ve completed the quest with at least one MyPLAYER, each time you create a new build, NBA 2K25 will ask you if you wish to activate Rebirth for this new build or stick with the regular starting setup. This prompt appears after you’ve selected your team during player creation. Just click yes to use Rebirth, or no if you want to play MyCAREER the hard way.

If you will be making multiple MyPLAYERS, then surely our list of the best builds in NBA 2K25 will be of some interest. We have a recommendation for every position, so if you’re enthusiastic enough, you can give all of them a go.
