Can you free Ma Tianba (the Horse Guai) at the Sandgate Village in Black Myth Wukong?

You encounter Black Myth: Wukong’s Horse Guai a second time in Chapter Two when you reach Sandgate Villgate, only, this time, the mighty beast has found itself in a pickle.

Depending on how attentive you are to Black Myth: Wukong‘s environment, you may have found Ma Tianba—the Horse Guai—in Chapter One. When you first encounter him, he’s chilling (hoofing around even) and provides the Destined One with idle chit-chat to break up the slew of bosses.

In Chapter Two, however, Ma Timba has us screaming at the screen until we’re hoarse, wondering if we can save him.

Can you free the Horse Gaui from Sandgate Village in Black Myth Wukong?

Quite simply, no, you can’t free Ma Tianba from his predicament in Black Myth: Wukong as he stubbornly refuses to let you do so, and there’s no other secret way to release him from his binds either.

That’s it! Even though you find Ma Tianba firmly tied to a post with seemingly no means of escape—perilously close to the Earth Wolf Boss, I might add—the Horse Guai assures you he’ll escape and avoid becoming rat food.

Without going into too much detail, the horse does free itself and makes several appearances throughout Black Myth: Wukong. But what happens in these instances is up to you to find out for yourself.
