‘Superlative seen on a Razzie Award’ NYT Mini Crossword Aug. 7 clue solution and hints

I don't accept this award.

The Razzie Awards are one of those events—if you know, you know. They are indeed a celebration and awards are handed out to people, but “Superlative seen on a Razzie Award” doesn’t have the positive connotations you might think.

  • Hint 1: It’s very bad.
  • Hint 2: As bad as it gets.
  • Hint 3: Worse than worse.
  • Hint 4: It ends with “T.”

I deserve an award for these clues, to be honest, and if my nomination isn’t rewarded, here’s your answer.

In today’s NYT Mini, the solution for five down is “WORST.” The Golden Raspberry Awards, AKA the Razzie Awards, follow in the footsteps of the Academy Awards by celebrating actors and actresses for performances in films—but bad ones!

This is the part where I usually explain my clues, but I think today’s are self-explanatory. The Razzie Awards highlight the worst and reward the worst.

Did you know?

Shockingly, several high-profile celebrities have collected their Razzie Awards in person, including legendary actresses Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock!

Difficulty rating ‘Superlative seen on a Razzie Award’ clue in NYT Times Mini

I can’t tell you how happy this clue made me. I’ve known about the Razzie Awards for years and they are a perfect juxtaposition to the honor and prestige of the Oscars. If you know about the Razzie Awards, the clue is a two out of five at most, if you aren’t aware of them, a four is fair, so I’ll split the difference and give this a three out of five.
