Should you get Death Trooper (Peridea) in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes?

Is it worth it to get this undead Death Trooper added to your ranks?

With the arrival of new characters in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, there’s always a slight hesitation about whether you should immediately unlock them. There are now two undead units you can add to your collection, one of which is the Death Trooper (Peridea).

The Death Trooper (Peridea) is one of the Night Troopers who worked alongside Grand Admiral Thrawn. The character has a few tags that make it a unique choice for synergy, and its abilities could make it a powerful asset if you want to prevent your opponent from using any lifestealing abilities against your team. Still, it might not be for every Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes player, so you’ll have to decide if the Death Trooper (Peridea) is a character you need to get.

The Death Trooper (Peridea) is a reliable trooper unit designed as an attacker. This unit has the Imperial Remnant and Nightsister tags, making it compatible with both Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes squads. Overall, it’s a good choice and one we recommend for anyone looking to build up their Imperial Remnant squads, especially with more on the way. For anyone who wants to grab the upcoming Ashoka unit, it’s also recommended to get the Death Trooper (Peridea) pack as quickly as possible.

As it stands right now, Death Trooper (Peridea) looks like an excellent choice with more incoming Imperial Remnant units, such as Enoch. But right now, it synergizes with Dark Trooper Moff Gideon in all his glory. Dark Trooper Gideon is a tank that can use Death Trooper (Peridea) as a reliable attacker.

What makes the Death Trooper (Peridea) good is it can inflict the Blight status effect against enemies, spreading it to other enemies. Blight prevents characters from using any health steal abilities. The character with Blight in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes also takes bonus True Damage whenever they lose their Turn Meter. The effect can’t be evaded, but it can’t defeat them. The Death Trooper (Peridea) can apply Blight with their Just a Little Nibble ability, and you can spread the effect to other enemies with their second ability, Necrotic Tissue, at level eight.

Overall, the Death Trooper (Peridea) unit is a solid pick. It’s a reliable support attacker that will supplement Dark Trooper Moff Gideon. We could see it work alongside other Nightsister squads in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, namely those with Morgan Elsbeth and the other undead trooper, the Night Trooper. Many gamers likely hope we’ll get more information about Enoch and how he could fit into the Imperial Remnant forces.
