If you’re hoping to unlock all of the rewards included in the Pirates of the Caribbean crossover event in Fortnite, you have to navigate through many unique quests. One of these tasks asks you to walk the plank, which can be a tough one to complete.
Walking the plank is usually something pirates want to avoid, but for the Cursed Sails event in Fortnite, it’s a rite of passage you have to complete to unlock some rewards. If you’re struggling to get it done, here’s how to walk the plank in Fortnite.
Walk the plank in Fortnite, explained
To walk the plank in Fortnite, you need to land at one of the two ships on the island and walk to the edge of the plank. If you’re unfamiliar with a plank, you’re essentially looking for a long rectangular piece of wood sticking out of the side of the ship and hovering over the water below.
You only have to walk the plank once for this quest, which means you can choose either ship to complete this task. The two different ships you can visit are as follows:
- The first ship is at Shipwreck Shallows in the very middle of the map. It’s the only massive ship in this area, so you can’t miss it.
- The second ship that counts for this quest can be found near the far east end of the map, sitting along the coast south of Grand Glacier.
Once you’re at whichever ship you want to use for this task, locate the plank on the ship. If you’re tracking this quest, the plank will be highlighted, which makes finding it a lot easier. You have to act fast since both ships are landing hotspots that are sure to be packed with players because of the Pirates of the Caribbean event.
After locating the plank, walk toward it and make your way to the end. Just as you’re about to reach the end, the plank will send you flying up into the air, which means you have successfully completed the walk the plank quest.
With this quest out of the way, you’re officially one step closer to claiming the Jack’s Ship Glider. Completing this task also gets you some Cursed Gold to spend on the Pirates of the Caribbean Cursed Sails event pass.
