Weapons in The First Descendant are a crucial part of a Descendant’s build, with some interacting incredibly well with certain abilities and debuffs. One such weapon is the Fallen Hope, a gleaming gold and grey assault rifle capable of wiping out scores of enemies in one go.
As an Ultimate-grade weapon in The First Descendant, Fallen Hope isn’t something you’re just going to stumble across—you’ll need to craft this bad boy from scratch. Here’s how to research and unlock Fallen Hope in TFD.
Fallen Hope research requirements in The First Descendant
Fallen Hope is an Ultimate Weapon, meaning you’ll need to research it to unlock it. Researching Fallen Hope will take four hours and cost 100,000 Gold as well as using four unique materials: A Fallen Hope Polymer Syncytium, a Fallen Hope Synthetic Fiber, a Fallen Hope Nano Tube, and the Fallen Hope Blueprint.
Here’s a list including each main component and the activities you’ll need to complete to get it.
Research Material | How to acquire |
---|---|
Fallen Hope Polymer Syncytium | White-night Gulch (Normal): Border Line of Truth |
Fallen Hope Synthetic Fiber | White-night Gulch (Normal): Eye of Truth |
Fallen Hope Nano Tube | White-night Gulch (Normal): Altar |
Fallen Hope Blueprint | White-night Gulch (Normal): Lower Hatchery |
You’ll need to complete certain activities and missions in White-night Gulch to earn the materials needed to craft Fallen Hope. Each material has a 20 percent chance to drop, meaning you’ll need to run the missions a few times to get the pieces you need. Once you’ve got them all, head to Anais to research Fallen Hope, and the weapon is yours.
Remember, to upgrade it, you’ll need to infuse it with another copy of Fallen Hope, so grind out and research a few first if you’re a higher level.
What does Fallen Hope do in The First Descendant?
Fallen Hope is an assault rifle with the unique ability Perdition, which grants bonus weapon damage against Poisoned targets. When killing a Poisoned foe with Fallen Hope, there is a chance the enemy will explode and spread Poison to even more enemies.
It’s a great AoE add-clear weapon and works in tandem with any Toxic or Poison abilities, meaning the likes of Freyna will make better use of Fallen Hope.
