ELEAGUE and GEICO partner to create a Street Fighter V Amateur Series

Face your foes from Sept. 1.

ELEAGUE and insurance company GEICO are partnering to provide amateur gamers with a platform to showcase their skills—and prove they have what it takes to be the next Evo champion.

The GEICO ELEAGUE Amateur Series will kick off with a Street Fighter V tournament at PAX West on Sept. 1 to 4 in Seattle, Washington for 32 up-and-coming players. More games are expected to be announced in the future, according to the initial announcement, with Street Fighter V the first of many games to headline the series.

ELEAGUE plans to host three online qualifiers with the top 16 finishers competing at PAX West. The online qualifiers are open to anyone and will take place on Aug. 12, Aug. 13 to 19, and Aug. 20. Players can sign up on ELEAGUE’s battlefy page for a chance to compete live at the event.

Players that fail to qualify during the online qualifiers will have another chance to take part in the tournament. ELEAGUE plans to host an competition at PAX West, giving an additional 16 players a chance to qualify for the tournament.

The event will be livestreamed on ELEAGUE and GEICO’s Twitch channels for those unable to attend PAX West. Further details, prizes, commentators, and more will be shared in the coming weeks.
