Rogue is reportedly set to leave CS:GO as coL eyes vice

It's unclear who would get the EPL and ECS league spots if Rogue were to leave CS:GO.

Rogue Gaming might be on its way out of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports in the near future.

The North American organization could be set to withdraw from CS:GO, according to Jarek “DeKay” Lewis. At the same time, rifler Daniel “vice” Kim is supposedly joining compLexity Gaming, where he could potentially replace veteran stand-in Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert.

Last week, it was also reported that Danish Rogue star Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen and Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen would be leaving to join OpTic Gaming, a Danish powerhouse that’s been struggling since its formation last year. This possible move, along with the potential of vice joining coL, would leave only Spencer “hiko” Martin and Hunter “SicK” Mims on the active lineup.

MSL and niko leaving Rogue for OpTic doesn’t seem like a move that’s too far out of reach either, since both players have reportedly been practicing with the Danes, according to Dexerto. Players that the duo could replace include Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer and Jakob “JUGi” Hansen, because Snappi’s in-game leader has proven to be ineffective. JUGi, however, could be on his way to Cloud9 if previously-reported talks continue between the North American organization and the Danish AWPer. If the move were to happen, JUGi would likely be the primary AWPer on C9, while Tim “autimatic” Ta would move to the secondary AWP role.

These reported changes following the IEM Katowice Major could compromise Rogue’s slots in the ECS and ESL Pro League as well. Since only two out of the five players from the original Rogue roster would still be on the team, the NA league spots could go to another team in either the ECS Challenger Cup or ESEA Premier (for EPL).
