Respawn Entertainment announced that it has banned over 355,000 players on Apex Legends’ PC version as of March 8, a month after the game was released.
This number represents an ongoing war between Respawn and an influx of cheaters who are using illegal hacks in-game to boost their chances of winning games. Respawn announced the number during a recent Reddit post, which also hinted at incoming changes to the game.
In order to discover and get rid of more cheaters, Respawn will also be adding a report feature to the PC version of the game that allows players to send messages directly to the Easy-Anti Cheat system.
On top of the cheating bans, Respawn also announced plans to fix a bunch of crashes and bugs that have been present in Apex, alongside a feature that will give players the chance to reconnect to a game they dropped out of either by accident or through the game disconnecting.
At the time of writing, if you disconnect from a game, there’s no way to rejoin it. So a reconnecting feature would be a welcome addition to a lot of fans who still suffer from constant problems while playing the game.
