The original deal began in September 2016, but NiP was forced to terminate the sponsorship due to rules in the EU LCS surrounding teams being sponsored by gambling sites.

The team dropped out of the EU LCS, however, in the promotion tournament and will once again be allowed to have Betway as a sponsor after the participation agreement with the EU LCS expired.

Betway still sponsored NiP’s individual CS:GO players over the last two months, but will now return as the main jersey sponsor for the organization moving forward.

In the announcement, NiP confirmed that the organization is evaluating the future of its League of Legends team. Hicham Chahine, NiP’s CEO, told Dot Esports that NiP still has long-term plans for League as a whole. NiP plans to assess the current rumors surrounding the European league, and determine if the organization wants to be a part of it moving forward.
