Black Ops 4 update version 1.13 can now be downloaded—it’s an 11.6 GB file on Xbox One and 11.1 GB file on PS4. Treyarch released the patch notes at 3:22pm CT, giving us insight on what is really in the update.
The debut of Operation Grand Heist was expected to be the biggest part of this update, with new multiplayer maps, Casino and Lockup, as well as an exclusive Blackout character promoted.
Multiplayer
- A new Specialist, Outrider, has been added on PS4. Specialist abilities include the Sparrow, an explosive bow-and-arrow weapon, as well as the Hawk, a drone that tags enemies.
- New weapons can be earned on the PS4 Black Market: Switchblade X9 SMG, Rampage shotgun, and the Cha-Ching! melee weapon.
- New multiplayer maps, Lockup and Casino, have been added to PS4 version.
- The Maddox RFB was heavily nerfed, with recoil stability, Quickdraw, Quickdraw II, Stock, ELO recoil stability, and max damage range all being decreased in effectiveness.
- The max damage range has been slightly increased for the Rampart 17 and KN-57, and the VAPR-XKG was given a major five-hit kill range increase as well as decreased ADS sway.
- Submachine guns MX9 and GKS were slightly buffed, but nothing that will make them much better. Spitfire and Saug9mm received decently-sized nerfs. The Saug now has worse sprint-out speed, move speed, Stock move speed, and Grip recoil stability.
- The Tactical Rifles all were buffed in ADS move speed. The Auger DMR has better firing speed now, and the ABR 223 has better sprint-out speed.
- The Outlaw has an increased firing speed now, and the Koshka has reduced ADS sway.
- Prophet’s Seeker was nerfed as it can be destroyed with one bullet. It also has reduced detection range against opponents using Cold Blooded.
- Ajax’s 9-Bang has been greatly nerfed, with the screen flash being reduced, as well as the flashed player being able to change stances and have both hands on their weapon.
- Frag Grenade’s damage was increased. The Concussion Grenade wasnerfed, though. Players can now stun themselves with their own Concussion and stunned opponents with Tactical Mask will not be as affected.
- Speaking of Tactical Mask, players that use it will recover quicker from a Tempest shot. Players using it, however, will no longer have fire or radiation resistance.
- Flak Jacket will now have improved fire and radiation resistance.
- Lightning Strike has less of a delay between targeting and the strike happening.
- Sentry’s damage has been increased, and so has its range.
- Drone Squad’s damage has been increased as well.
Blackout
- Ghost Town, a western-themed point of interest in the southeast desert has been added to the map. Outlaw is above ground and Buried is below it at this location.
- There are now 10 prestiges and 1,000 Echelons for players to earn.
- Dozens of “new and supporting structures added throughout the map,” according to the patch notes.
- Outrider is available in Blackout, and so is the newest Blackout skin, Cosmic Silverback, for Black Ops Pass owners.
- Armor damage mitigation has been increased for each level.
- Armor plates needed to repair a Level 3 has also been decreased.
- Various weapon tuning, including nerfs to the Saug 9mm, Auger DMR, and ABR 223.
- Frag Grenade’s damage has been increased.
Zombies
- Death-Con Five, a new gauntlet, has been added. It has 30 rounds that players can earn medals throughout. The game ends after players reach three strikes.
- Additional Tier Skip added as new reward for completing Daily Callings.
- Numerous bug fixes involving crash resolutions.
