One of Marvel Snap’s least-used cards gets a quad-kill in shocking final turn play

Unexpected catastrophe.

With Marvel Snap staying on top of the digital card game scene for more than a year, more Marvel characters-turned-playable cards become available, making older cards, especially those with inconsistent abilities, see less playing time in the meta.

One of those less-popular cards is Kingpin. As seen on the post by Reddit user 650fosho on Oct. 23, Kingpin can be a massive weapon of destruction in turn six. But he was not all alone, and his friends such as Storm and Juggernaut paved the way for the combo that helped the gamer win the match in the end.

Kingpin isn’t used much mainly because of his ability condition. He has an effect that can destroy cards which are moved to the location where he is placed, but that ability only works on turn six. However, 650fosho managed to turn this ability condition in their favor.

In the final turn, they played Juggernaut on the right Vibranium Mines location. Juggernaut has the ability to move all the cards the opponent played on anther location if there are still open spots left. The opponent played four cards in Vibranium Mines during the same turn as the Juggernaut play, and all of those were moved to the Flooded location by Storm—where Kingpin was placed.

The whole scenario was a lockdown setup, since the opponent had no choice but to play the majority of their cards in Vibranium Mines. This is because of Storm’s ability to flood a location, meaning that players won’t be able to play cards on the location where she is placed from the next turn onwards.

With Kingpin present in the Flooded location, all of the cards Juggernaut moved were destroyed, leaving the opponent with just four cards in the Valley of the Land location. The combo resulted in the player winning two of the three locations, outscoring their opponent in the Flooded location (10-0) and Vibranium Mines (16-0). Silver Surfer added the finishing touches by giving plus two Power to the gamer’s three-cost cards.

The post collected over 1,500 upvotes from fans. Some users also shared their thoughts about the play, especially with the synergy of Kingpin and Storm. “Kingpin and Storm! Why didn’t I think of that. Great combo,” one user said.

Indeed, players have a wide choice of cards to use in Marvel Snap. In the case of this player, they played someone who has been out of the spotlight for a long time , but proved to be an effective weapon of mass destruction when used correctly.
