Newest Five Nights at Freddy’s gets surprise early release after dev ‘goof’

It's a surprise to everyone, but one we're excited to see.

Five Nights At Freddy’s (FNAF) fans can rejoice, as the surprise release of the latest game, Into the Pit, got an early release. Initially, the game was coming out on Aug. 8, but it’s available a day early because of a “goof” that released it in Japan.

The creator of FNAF shared the news on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, informing everyone of the slip-up. Rather than retracting it in Japan, the team decided to make it something everyone can enjoy, and eager fans of the series can start playing it right now on Steam. After a full week of celebrating the 10th anniversary of the FNAF franchise, it’s a great way to cap off the celebrations.

If anyone was waiting to pick up this game, now is the time to grab it and dive into the adventure. Into The Pit is a pixelated adventure version of the horror series where you’ll be exploring an abandoned pizzeria and time-traveling to pick up clues to solve troublesome puzzles, all while attempting to escape the murderous animations of FNAF. There are different endings for Into the Pit, which means you’ll want to work through it multiple times.

Into the Pit was set to finish this week of FNAF‘s 10th-anniversary celebrations. These past few days have been hectic for fans, as they’ve been rolling through interviews with the creator, Scott Cawthon, and learning about upcoming collaborations, such as the one between FNAF and Dead by Daylight. Although Fortnite fans were disappointed with the news, there’s still a chance collaboration could happen between those two games in the future.

Head on over to Steam to grab Into The Pit and dive straight into this 2D horror adventure game. You can purchase it for $19.99.
