How to get Sternness of Stone in Black Myth Wukong

One half of the key.

Black Myth: Wukong’s Chapter Two has a couple of doorways that may lead to some head-scratching before you can open them. You need two items to see what’s on the other side: Sternness of Stone and Keenness of Tiger.

Keenness of Tiger is a bit easier to find since it’s tied to a battle in Crouching Tiger Temple. Sternness of Stone, however, is located in a different area called the Fright Cliff, which also has a few secrets tied to it. In that area, you can find six Buddha’s Eyeballs for a secret boss, or complete the Man-In-Stone questline (and these two go hand in hand).

To get to the Fright Cliff in Black Myth: Wukong, cross the bridge on the other side of the Valley of Despair area in Sandgate Village. This will put you just in front of the Squall Hideout Keeper’s Shrine (with a Buddha’s Eyeball just before it).

This area leads to the Rockrest Flat, where you can face off against a boss to obtain the Sternness of Stone. Here’s where you can find it.

Sternness of Stone is guarded by the Stone Vanguard in the Rockcrest Flat shrine in the Fright Cliff area. You can find the boss’ arena by hugging the path on the left of the shrine and passing through the gate.

The fight against the Stone Vanguard isn’t as bad as its feline counterpart, the Tiger Vanguard. The sedimentary antagonist’s attacks are far slower and easier to read, so it’s mostly a game of cat and mouse while trying to whittle down its health. Stand behind it and watch out for its sweep attacks, plus the AoE from when he causes rocks to emerge from the ground.

If you can’t find the Rockrest Flat area, fall back to the Squall Hideout Shrine and take the path on the left, which runs through a small tunnel. The Shrine will be just on the other side of the tunnel. We recommend grabbing the six Buddha’s Eyeballs in the vicinity since they’re mostly in that zone.

In this same area, you can use your six Buddha’s Eyeballs to summon a secret boss. We’re not sure what happens if you summon both simultaneously, but taking them one at a time may be the better option.
