GODSENT adds two new players to its roster

The team is focusing on developing new talent ahead of 2018.

One of Sweden’s most storied Counter-Strike: Global Offensive rosters of recent years is capping off a disappointing year with yet another roster change.

GODSENT, which started the year out featuring several of the most accomplished Swedish players in CS:GO history now primarily consists of newer competitors, as the organization has added Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin and Hampus “Hampus” Poser.

Between the two players, Hampus has the most competitive experience, playing regularly in the Swedish semi-professional scene for the past two years. Brollan, who is only 15-years-old, has not had as much time to carve out his name in the competitive space, and only began competing in 2017.

Hampus has also competed with this current iteration of GODSENT in the past, as he joined the team temporarily during its run through the World Esports Games on Nov. 23, where the team achieved a second place finish.

The two players will be occupying the spots previously held by Andreas “znajder” Lindberg and Dennis “dennis” Edman. The pair elected to leave the roster on Nov. 15 after an extended period of lackluster results. Dennis was traded to GODSENT as part of a trade with Fnatic on Aug. 21, in favor of GODSENT rifler Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson.

Aside from the departures of dennis and znajder the team also released founding member Markus “pronax” Wallsten on Aug. 21, as well as current Fnatic stalwarts Jesper “JW” Wecksell and Robin “flusha” Rönnquist—who had joined the team in late 2016.

The primary cause behind all these departures is the roster’s consistent lack of results, despite housing some of Sweden’s most established talents and prospects. After falling in the group stage of the ELEAGUE Major in January, the team failed to qualify for either the PGL Major or next month’s ELEAGUE Major: Boston. Since January’s Major, the team hasn’t competed in any top tier events.
