ESL One Cologne: Day 1 Recap

Here is your Day one recap for the world's largest CS:GO major, ESL One Cologne.

Day one of the world’s largest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive major event, ESL One Cologne consisted of the group matches. These group matches would decide whether they would have to play on day two, or have the chance to take a break before competing in the playoffs this weekend.

Day two will present us with edge of the seat action as we will see some teams being sent home and others advancing through to the playoff matches this weekend.

Group A

Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Counter Logic Gaming

Dust2:

– First Half: CLG (T) won pistol, took NiP (CT)  8 – 7.

– Overall: 16 – 13 | NiP (T) took the series 1-0.

Renegades vs. Team SoloMid

Train:

– First Half: Renegades (T) won pistol, TSM (CT) took it 10 – 5.

– Overall: 16 – 11 | TSM (T) took the series 1-0.

Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Team SoloMid – Group A Winners

Cache:

– First Half: TSM (T) won pistol, took NiP (CT) 12 – 3.

– Overall: 16 – 3 | TSM (CT) took the series 1-0.

Group B

EnVyUs vs. FlipSid3 Tactics

Inferno:

– First Half: nV (CT) won pistol, took FlipSid3 (T) 12 – 3.

– Overall: 16 – 3 | nV (T) took the series 1-0.

Team Kinguin vs. Luminosity Gaming

Overpass:

– First Half: Kinguin (T) won pistol, Luminosity (CT) took it 10 – 5.

– Overall: 16 – 6 | Luminosity (T) took the series 1-0.

EnVyUs vs. Luminosity Gaming – Group B Winners

Cobblestone:

– First Half: Luminosity (T) won pistol, nV (CT) took it 8 – 7.

– Overall: 19 – 16 | nV took the series 1-0.

Group C

Fnatic vs. Team eBettle

Mirage:

– First Half: Fnatic (CT) won pistol, took eBettle (T) 14 – 1.

-Overall: 16 – 2 | Fnatic (T) took the series 1-0.

Titan vs. Natus Vincere

Overpass:

– First Half: Na’Vi (CT) won pistol, took Titan (T) 11 – 4.

– Overall: 19 – 17 | Na’Vi took the series 1-0.

Fnatic vs. Natus Vincere – Group C Winners

Inferno:

– First Half:  Fnatic (CT) won pistol, took  Na’Vi (T) 13 – 2.

– Overall: 16 – 2 |  Fnatic (T) took the series 1-0.

Group D

Virtus.pro vs. Team Immunity

Cobblestone:

– First Half: Immunity (T) won pistol, VP (CT) took it 9 – 6.

– Overall: 16 – 8 | VP (T) took the series 1-0.

Cloud9 vs. mouseSports

Overpass:

– First Half: C9 (T) won pistol, mouse (CT) took it 8 – 7.

– Overall: 16 – 10 | C9 (CT) took the series 1-0.

Virtus.pro vs. Cloud9 – Group D Winners

Cobblestone:

– First half: VP (CT) won pistol, took C9 (T) 8 – 7.

– Overall: 16 – 8 | VP (T) took the series 1-0.
