League of Legends’ new game mode, Teamfight Tactics, plays a lot like Dota Auto Chess. It has a similar look and feel, and its gameplay and strategy will likely end up being all too familiar.

In the newly-coined autoabattler genre, players have a certain amount of space on their boards and are permitted a defined number of units. In the case of TFT, you have nine slots on your bench, with a progressing amount in the centre of your board. The higher the level, the more champions you can add to the battlefield.

Upgrading your champions will give them added bonuses in the form of extra damage, health, or armor. If you neglect to level our champions, at a certain point, your army be easily outgunned by your opponents. But how do you upgrade them?

Once you’ve bought three of the same champion, they’ll automatically combine together and upgrade to level two. When you’ve gathered three level two champions, they’ll upgrade again to level three.

When a champion has been upgraded to level three, it has reached its final form and can no longer be upgraded.

This article will be updated when further information is released concerning TFT.
