How to get Keenness of Tiger in Black Myth Wukong

Better be sharp with your dodges.

Black Myth Wukong has its share of secrets in its chapters, but sometimes, finding them requires some less-than-obvious ingredients—such as Keenness of Tiger.

Keenness of Tiger and Sternness of Stone are needed to enter some locked-off areas in the Yellow Wind Ridge zone in the second chapter, but they’re not exactly off the beaten path if you know where to look. And it’s particularly hard to miss the location of one of these two items, considering its location is about as subtle as a sword-wielding, blood-drinking, martial artist tiger three times your size coming at you.

Here’s where you can find Keenness of Tiger in Black Myth: Wukong.

Keenness of Tiger drops after facing down the Tiger Vanguard boss in Black Myth: Wukong‘s Crouching Tiger Temple. This zone is available after getting past the First Prince of the Flowing Sands boss, but a Giant Bat also guards the path.

The Tiger Vanguard can be quite a difficult fight, however. The boss has quite a chunk of HP, and it can be hard to react to some of his moves. Some are just difficult to spot, like his sweeps. Others can hit you due to area-of-effect damage or tracking, and on rare occasions, the camera can move above you to a place that’s difficult to spot. It’s nothing like fighting large creatures in Elden Ring, though.

After a fierce fight, the Keenness of Tiger appears as a boss drop—though you still need the Sternness of Stone to advance to a couple of secret areas. Another boss guards it, though in our experience, the Tiger Vanguard is still by far the most challenging of the duo. And the trip is worth it.

Once you have the two items, you can unlock two areas—one from the blood pool inside the Crouching Tiger temple and another in the Valley of Despair, where you fought the Second Rat Prince.
