Rawdog Simulator is a new browser-based game that challenges you to sit there and do nothing. No food, no drink, no entertainment. In the true spirit of rawdogging, it’s just you and a screen showing flight progress.

Rawdogging has become a hit meme in 2024, with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland even getting in on the act—and it has a simple premise. On a long-haul flight, you can’t enjoy any of the entertainment or food that may be offered.

Instead, the task is to sit and stare at a screen—and make sure you don’t look too much like a psychopath. Of course, diving in blind can lead to embarrassment among your peers if you fail, but Rawdog Simulator provides a practice range.

I had my first taste of rawdogging in Rawdog Simulator, though it was a quick process that lasted mere seconds. Clearly, I need more practice if I am to face off against the big boys of the rawdogging scene.

It’s a fairly basic game, though I have to admit the scenes when my character was walking to their seat were pretty horrifying, and buckling into the challenge doesn’t take long—and there can be no cheating.

To make sure you’re in the true rawdogging spirit, the game uses “cutting-edge face and eye-tracking software.” Take your eyes off the screen and an alert sounds, with five seconds before it’s game over.

Rawdog Simulator is clearly getting some legs, too. The game leaderboards show one player has done the maximum 18 hours and 40 minutes of rawdogging, though this may be an anomaly or a test score. Some are still putting in decent numbers, though, approaching four hours.

If you have the time to kill and want to strap in for a rawdogging session, the world is your oyster.
