It was overtime, and the fourth map, Lotus, was being played. PRX were in the lead (13-12). However, they were reduced to f0rsakeN and something early in the round, with Chronicle, kaajak, Boaster, and crashies alive, yet PRX still managed to get the round for themselves by clutching it 2v4.

The final scoreline was 3-1 in favor of PRX, a dominating win over the FNATIC team led by Boaster.

On many previous occasions, Paper Rex reached the finals but fell short. However, 2025 had other plans for them, as PRX clinched their first-ever VCT title in VALORANT Masters Toronto.

Although FNATIC had an early defeat to Gen.G in their first playoff match (upper quarterfinals), they had a great run in the lower bracket. They defeated RRQ, Sentinels, G2 Esports, and Wolves Esports in the lower rounds to reach the grand final that took place on June 22, where they emerged as the runner-up.

PRX won $350,000 from the prize pool and secured seven circuit points, while FNATIC secured $200,000 and five circuit points.

Fans of the Pacific team had their dreams come true, as they were finally able to celebrate their favorite team and players winning a major title after defeating some of the strongest squads from all over the globe.

A player from a VALORANT Esports community subreddit said, “I’M ACTUALLY CRYING; WHAT A GREAT DAY TO BE A PRX FAN.” A fan thinks PRX had a “poetic” win as they lost their first grand final while being 2v4 and the second grand final on Lotus. Their third time was the charm as their situations were similar, yet they did not choke and eventually won.

The last four VCT tournaments have seen the Pacific teams dominating: Gen.G (VCT Masters Shanghai winners), EDward Gaming (VALORANT Champions winners), T1 (VCT Masters Bangkok winners), and now Paper Rex as VCT Masters Toronto winners.

All the teams will now head back to their respective regions to battle it out once more in Stage 2. Then the best teams will face off against each other at the grand stage of the final event of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025, starting Sept. 12 in Paris.
