4 of the top-rated VALORANT players in VCT Masters Toronto Swiss Stage were from the same team

The preliminary Swiss stage of VCT Masters Toronto has just concluded. Among the many standout performances so far, Gen.G’s undefeated run has been impossible to ignore—and it’s mostly thanks to four of their VALORANT players who currently boast some of the highest ratings this season.

One of 2025’s most prestigious international VALORANT tournaments, VCT Masters Toronto, delivered several nail-biting matchups during the Swiss stage, which was held from June 7 to 11. The high-stakes format required teams to secure two wins before facing two losses to stay in the competition, with four advancing to the playoffs and the rest eliminated.

Gen.G entered the Masters Toronto as the Pacific region’s second seed, having fallen to Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) in the VCT 2025: Pacific Stage one grand finals in May. While RRQ secured a direct playoff spot, Gen.G had to battle through the Swiss stage to make it to the playoffs. But the Munchkin-led squad breezed past with two back-to-back wins against MIBR and PRX without dropping a single map. But that’s not all.

According to vlr.gg’s stats for the tournament, four Gen.G stars—t3xture, Foxy9, Karon, and Ash—have managed to bag the highest player ratings in the Swiss stage of Masters Toronto.

The numbers hail T3xture and Foxy9 as the best-performing VALORANT players in the Swiss stage, with ratings of 1.43 and 1.28, respectively, while Karon and Ash come in at fourth and fifth. Munchkin missed out a spot in the top five by little, but still holds a formidable ninth position on the list. Interestingly, Spring of Wolves Esports has scored an impressive rating of 1.28—same as Foxy9—thus securing a spot between the top four Gen.G players on the list.

Vlr’s rating system takes five performance factors into account: kill contribution, death contribution, assist contribution, damage contribution, and survival contribution, to calculate an overall rating for a VALORANT player. From the looks of it, Gen.G’s ratings received a huge boost because of its dominant 2-0 win against MIBR, a series that defined “team diff” at its best. The series against PRX was a significant win too, with all of Gen.G’s players maintaining excellent stats in both maps. 

Gen.G isn’t the only undefeated team in VCT Masters Toronto either. Sentinels made it through the Swiss stage with two consecutive wins, defeating Bilibili Gaming and Wolves Esports. But if we were to make note of the round differential, Gen.G take the win. Gen.G have won 52 rounds against 20 rounds lost (+32), while Sentinels have won 61 rounds over 46 lost (+15). Whether Gen.G will be able to maintain its dominance in the playoffs stage is a story for when the final battle for the Masters trophy begins on June 13.
