Now here’s some exotic loot we would love to see in Destiny 2.
As part of Major League Baseball’s Players Weekend, all 30 teams across the league are wearing special uniforms that feature the players’ nicknames on the back of their limited-edition jerseys. Players are also able to accessorize their attire with special cleats, batting gloves, and bats.
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is taking the field this weekend with some special gaming-related attire—cleats and batting gloves inspired by the three classes in the upcoming game Destiny 2.
For Friday’s game, Judge wore gold and black gloves and cleats inspired by Destiny’s Warlock. He also has a blue set for the Hunter class, and red for the Titan. He will wear each pair once for every game of his team’s three-game series this weekend.
Judge previously visited Bungie’s studio at the end of July when the Yankees were in town to play the Seattle Mariners, so it appears that he’s a fan of the game. Or it’s just a simple advertising opportunity. Either way, it’s pretty cool.
Destiny 2 releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Sept. 6, and on PC on Oct. 24. Judge went 0-4 in Friday’s 2-1 loss in the Warlock gear, but the 25-year-old outfielder is still sporting a .283 batting average with 37 home runs in his rookie season.
