Yakuza 6 lets you hang out at cat cafes and chill with hostesses

There's seriously a ton of things to do in this game.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life isn’t out until March, but Sega is making sure you know as much as possible about the game before it hits shelves. For instance, not long ago Sega created an entire website focused on getting players up to speed before the game debuts, and now there’s a new trailer outlining some of the mini games and in-game activities protagonist Kazuma Kiryu can mess about with.

While Kiryu wanders the streets of Onomichi and Kamurocho, he’ll be able to chill with arcade games like Puyo Puyo, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, hit the batting cages, pump some iron, hang out with beautiful women, play baseball—and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. He can even go underwater fishing. You can even explore cat cafes! Kiryu is also shown carrying around a crying baby trying to calm it, but why would anyone ever want to play that? Boring. Not when there are hostesses to chat up and arcade games to play.

It’s clear that Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is going to be an intricate game, just like the last few iterations, with lots to do and plenty of ways to pass the time between story missions. It may end up that you spend most of your time just doing all those fun things instead of actually working through the story, but hey, that's an acceptable way to play too. And if any game is capable of keeping you busy like that, it's the Yakuza series.

You can check out Yakuza 6: The Song of Life when it releases on PlayStation 4 on March 20.
