Ubisoft is giving Watch Dogs away for free
Ubisoft's Watch Dogs 2 impressed players when it launched last year, taking the series to the Bay Area with a vibrant cast of millennial hackers. And for the next week, Ubisoft is offering the original Watch Dogs for free by signing up for Uplay.
Starting Nov. 7 at 4pm UTC and ending on Nov. 13 4pm UTC, gamers can hop into Ubisoft's official gaming distribution service and register a free version of Watch Dogs for their libraries. The deal is for PC only, unfortunately, so console fans won't be able to grab their own copy unless they also own a gaming PC.
Watch Dogs originally came out for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U in 2014. In the game, players star as Aiden Pearce, a hacker who exploits Chicago's ctOS city operating system to track down the group responsible for killing his niece in a hit gone wrong. The game received enormous hype after its unveiling at E3 2012, and while the initial excitement didn't quite hold up, the game was still hailed as an interesting and engaging open-world action game.
