Stardew Valley's Chucklefish has a brand-new idea that's sure to delight both Harry Potter and RPG fans. Earlier today, the company teased a new game that appears to be its upcoming magical school RPG.

Chucklefish's CEO teased a tweet earlier today showing off a screenshot from the game, showing a group of people in witches and wizards hats. The style appears similar to Stardew Valley, leading many to wonder at first if the upcoming game is an expansion or sequel to the farming sim title.

"SDV still in testing, no news yet," CEO Finn "Tiyuri" Brice tweeted. "Thought this sneak peak might tide you over. We've learned a lot of lessons from working with Stardew."

Brice later confirmed that the game was Chucklefish's second upcoming project, although he repeated that "no formal announcement" would be coming "for a while" regarding the title.

Previously, Chucklefish revealed Wargroove, a Fire Emblem-esque indie game. PC Gamer's Tom Marks also reported in January that Chucklefish was working on two new games, referencing the then-untitled Wargroove as well as an "RPG/Sim set in a magic school, something like Stardew Valley meets Harry Potter." The "other new project" Brice alludes to in his tweet appears to be this game.

Marks reports that Brice also said there will be sim features present in the game, as well as "day night cycles, dating, classes, etc. But with some interesting gameplay twists." For the time being, it remains unclear what those twists will be.

However, there is some more context to Brice's tweet, including a potential title for the game. A video posted by Brice in October teases an in-house art style that Chucklefish is experimenting with. The demo shows off a witch speaking to the viewer in a room with two schoolgirls. Several magical elements are apparent in the room, including another witch hat, a glowing rune, and a glowing staff.

Brice also teased the title "Spellbound" numerous times on Twitter. He previously posted the art demonstration video with a message referencing the title, as well as a gif called "Spellbound library." Brice also shared a lighting demo called "Spellbound lighting work" in April.

While no formal announcement is on its way, it seems Spellbound is Chucklefish's next game. But it remains unclear when it will be released for the time being, or if it will land on console. For now, Chucklefish fans will just have to wait.
