Region-exclusive Pokémon, such as Kangaskhan and Unown, have started to appear around Europe in Pokémon Go for the first time, starting today.
Kangaskhan has only been available in Australia and New Zealand since the release of Pokémon Go in July 2016, while Unown was released in Chicago during last month’s failed Pokémon Go Fest.
These Pokémon will only be in main European cities, such as London, Paris, Berlin, and more until Aug. 21, with more region-exclusive Pokémon expected to be released over the next few hours until the end of the event.
In addition to this, Niantic will also be releasing Lure Modules in Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers around Europe from Aug. 12 to 19, in order to give players a chance to find these rare Pokémon more easily.
Niantic recently postponed a handful of the Safari Zone events taking place across Europe this month, and the increased release of these region-exclusive Pokémon is one way that the company has been looking to give back to the community.
