Registration just opened for this year's Pokémon Europe International Championships, which will be held in London from Nov. 17 to 19.

Pokémon video game and trading card game players will compete at the ExCel London convention center for a chance to win a chunk of the $250,000 prize pool, as well as those all important Championship Points.

Players will be playing on Pokémon Sun and Moon in the tournament, with Ultra Sun and Moon not becoming competitively viable until Jan. 1, 2018. And the Pokémon Company released the updated rules for tournaments coming up in the new year on Oct. 7.

The tournament will begin on Friday, Nov. 17 at 8:30am GMT and will finish when all matches are concluded throughout the three days. The main matches will be streamed on multiple platforms, including Twitch, showing off both the TCG and video game portions of the event.

In addition to the main tournaments, a series of side events aimed towards casual players will be available. Not much is known about what these events will entail, but if they're anything like previous Pokémon events in the UK, players can take on small challenges in order to try to unlock Pokémon-themed goodies.
