Yet another free deal is available this week, and this one is for an indie hit. Now that GOG's Winter Sale has just one week left, the gaming distribution platform is offering adventure title Oxenfree for free for a limited time.

The game's 100 percent off deal, which is exclusive to GOG, lets players pick up the game without DRM for Windows, Mac, and Linux players. That means there's no need to activate the game over Steam or even GOG's own distribution program, GOG Galaxy. Just grab a free copy and dig in.

Oxenfree follows Alex and her stepbrother Jonas, two teenagers attending a late-night beach party to celebrate the end of their high school years. But the two inadvertently activate a portal that allows supernatural beings to roam around and terrorize Alex's friends across an abandoned military island, forcing the two to reunite their friend group and look for answers.

Released by Night School Studios to critical acclaim, Oxenfree stood out thanks to its branching story opportunities. That most notably includes responding to all dialogue prompts in numerous ways, including never at all.

Oxenfree's giveaway is only available for a limited time, however. After 9am ET on Thursday, Dec. 21, Oxenfree will no longer be free. So to avoid purchasing the game during the GOG Winter Sale, make sure to pick it up ahead of time.

Meanwhile, GOG's Winter Sale lasts until Dec. 26, making now the perfect time to get in some last-minute shopping before the entire deal ends after Christmas.
