Overkill Software’s new Walking Dead game has come back from the dead, so to speak, with a new trailer that shows off what the developer has been up to over the past few months. Overkill’s The Walking Dead (that’s its full name) is a four-player co-op title from the developer of the Payday series featuring characters set in The Walking Dead universe based on the original graphic novel series.

The latest trailer introduces us to Aidan, one of the playable characters who carries a club and isn’t afraid to get a little dangerous with it. That’s likely one of his main weapons, though the trailer didn’t go into specifics on what type of kit the characters will be outfitted with.

The game is set in Washington, DC and follows an outbreak that finds the dead mysteriously reanimating as your set of four playable characters fight for survival and to cope with the new world around them. You’ll be expected to complete various missions and raids that require you to pick up supplies and survivors, all the while eliminating threats. You’ll ultimately put together a base camp to fortify your group against the undead and fellow living beings looking to usurp your safety nets.

Each character will come packing their own set of abilities, skill trees, expanded background stories, and more. Much like Left 4 Dead and games of its ilk, you’ll never quite know where the next shambling horde is coming from, so it’s good to stay one step ahead of the zombies, lest you become lunch.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is slated for a fall 2018 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
