Good news for Metal Gear Solid fans eager to put their Nvidia Shield to good use. Nvidia's Android streaming device has just received Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD Edition through the Google Play store.

Available thanks to Konami Shield, Metal Gear Solid 3 HD Edition's Android release lets players return to the game exclusively through their Nvidia Shield device. The Android app is optimized for 720p with the Nvidia Shield TV, meaning HDTVs will certainly get a lot of mileage through the HD remake. Don't expect any new features on the Nvidia Shield, but for series fans that want to return to Big Boss' roots as Naked Snake, Metal Gear Solid 3's HD version is sure to delight.

Metal Gear Solid 3 HD is available on the Google Play Store for $9.99, with the game otherwise offered at $14.99 on PlayStation 3. The HD Edition originally released as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection remaster pack for PlayStation 3 back in 2011. For more information on Metal Gear Solid 3's debut on the Nvidia Shield, check out the game's official Nvidia Shield page.
