H1Z1 has announced a new esports circuit with a $1 million prize pool
Daybreak Game Company has announced a new esports circuit around its flagship game, H1Z1: King of the Kill.
The H1Z1 Elite Series hopes to bring the top performing players around the world together to create a huge professional circuit.
This isn't the first time that Daybreak Games has created an event for the game, as the developer previously hosted H1Z1 Invitationals at TwitchCon, with last year's taking place on Oct. 2.
The Elite Series will have a grand total of $1 million in prize money between four regions; North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, with each regional event featuring a prize pool of $250,000.
The first of these events will kick off at DreamHack Atlanta on July 21, with two different tournaments. One will be catered towards solo players, with the winner of the competition earning themselves $100,000. The other is for teams of five, with the team earning $150,000 to split between the players.
Obey Alliance, World Best Gaming, Denial Esports, and CLG will be taking part in the tournaments at DreamHack. The other spots will be filled by players that qualify in preliminary rounds, which will be run on-site at Atlanta.
Other locations for the Elite Series will be announced later this year, Daybreak confirmed in the announcement.
