Xur is on Nessus for his first appearance in Destiny 2
Lovingly known as "tentacle-face" and certain other NSFW nicknames, Xur has become a character of legend in the Destiny universe. He appears every weekend with new Exotic items to sell, but his motives "are not his own" and little else is known about him.
In Destiny 2's second weekend, Xur has arrived. But he's not at the Tower or The Farm. Xur will now appear in certain areas in the wild, away from safety, awaiting your arrival to spend Legendary shards on new loot.
Where is Xur?
For Xur's first appearance in Destiny 2, he is located in the Watcher's Grave section on Nessus. Just check your world map and you'll see a green logo of the Roman numeral of nine. He's hanging out on the branch of a massive tree.
This week, Xur is selling one Exotic weapon and one piece of Exotic armor for each of every class in the game.
This week's Exotic weapon is Merciless, an extremely powerful fusion rifle, being sold for 29 Legendary shards. Merciless's main perk is called "Conserve Momentum" and it means that non-lethal hits with projectiles make the gun charge faster until its wielder gets a kill. This perk makes it insanely useful for taking down bosses or any enemy with a ton of health.
This week's Warlock armor is Wings of Sacred Dawn, a Dawnblade chest-piece for 23 Legendary shards. This armor will suspend you in mid-air for a short time whenever you aim a weapon. Landing precision shots will extend the duration of the effect.
For the Hunter, Raiden Flux is a chest-piece for the Arcstrider subclass, and it's also being sold for 23 Legendary shards. Raiden Flux will increase your damage output and duration of your Arcstrider Super with each successive attack.
Lastly, the Titan has Doom Fang Pauldron, gauntlets for the Sentinel subclass being sold for 23 Legendary shards. These gloves pair well with the Sentinel Shield Super, as shield bash kills with the Super ability will recharge your Shield Throw. Melee ability kills will also help your Super charge.
For Xur's first appearance, this isn't a bad inventory. If you can afford it and are missing any of these armors early on your Destiny 2 life, they're worth picking up. But Merciless is a must-buy. Make sure to pick it up before he leaves some time this weekend.
